Miranda Suggs (Far right, with her team) is the owner of Hot Spot Yoga STA here in Saint Augustine and graduated from UF in December 2018 with a degree in Business Administration. She has a wonderful husband, Brett Law, and three sons ages 17, 15 and 11. Prior to attending UF, she graduated from Crescent City High School and received her associate degree from St Johns River State College. Miranda began her career as a veterinary technician for thirteen years, and worked full time through college.

She chose business as a major because she wasnโ€™t sure what she wanted to do after college but knew that business would give her a solid baseline to grow from. Miranda really enjoyed her classes on real estate, entrepreneurship and career management. During those classes she realized that she needed to determine what her values, interests and skills were and identify a career that best met all of her requirements. She thought that she would become a veterinary pharmaceutical sales rep, but realized that the amount of travel required would not be suitable to raising a family.

Miranda took a semester off from school to complete a rigorous six week course, becoming a yoga instructor. She began teaching classes part time while still attending school, raising her family and working full time.
In early 2018, the yoga studio she worked for was purchased by out-of-state owners, and she feared she would lose her position. Her husband, a general contractor, encouraged her to open her own studio and Hot Spot Yoga STA opened in July 2018 in the Butler Beach area!

Since then, Miranda has dedicated herself to the business and membership community, containing members of all skill levels and ages ranging from 8 to 78. Business has been growing and they are looking to open a new location a few blocks from their current location.

Hot Yoga, formally known as Bikram yoga, is done in a room heated to 105ยฐF with 40 percent humidity. It consists of 26 poses and two breathing exercises that are done in the same order in every class. Hot yoga sessions last 60-90 minutes and provide relaxation of the mind and improve physical fitness. Hot Spot Yoga STA also offers traditional yoga as well as meditation classes. All classes move at an individualโ€™s own pace and increase your strength, flexibility and confidence as you progress. The community at Hot Spot Yoga STA is tremendously welcoming and makes the experience better for all!

Miranda loves meeting local Gators who come into her studio where she proudly displays her degree. She always looks for opportunities to do business with other Gator-owned companies and loves being part of the Gator Club and local Saint Augustine communities!
